PwC study showcases the power of VR training
A recent study by PwC investigated the effectiveness of virtual reality (VR) training, revealing its remarkable potential to transform learning experiences. Known as V-learning, this innovative approach employs VR to enhance skill development, particularly in soft skills.
The findings are impressive. V-learners experienced a 40% increase in confidence compared to traditional classroom learners and a 35% improvement over e-learners. Moreover, V-learners were 4 times more focused during training than e-learners and 1.5 times more focused than classroom learners, demonstrating the captivating nature of VR.
Cost-effectiveness was also evident. At 375 learners, VR training matched classroom costs, and at 1,950 learners, it matched e-learning costs. Scaling further, virtual training costs were 52% lower than classroom costs at 3,000 learners.
Speed of learning was another highlight, with V-learners completing training four times faster than their classroom counterparts. The emotional connection to content was substantial, with V-learners feeling 3.75 times more connected than classroom learners and 2.3 times more connected than e-learners.
While not a replacement, VR proves ready for large-scale deployment in various sectors. It can be integrated into a blended learning approach alongside traditional methods, offering a holistic and impactful educational strategy.
